Who can apply for IBPS PO Exam 2016?

The IBPS PO exam invites maximum number of candidates with a view to ‘hand pick’ the best ones for the purpose of strengthening the banking system of India. A person who falls under any one of the mentioned category can apply:

  • Indian Citizen
  • Nepal Citizen
  • Bhutan Citizen
  • A refugee from Tibet
  • Any person from Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, Malawi, Burma, Uganda, Zaire, Kenya or Pakistan, who is of Indian origin and wishes to settle permanently in India.

Educational Qualification for IBPS PO Exam 2016

It is important for the Government of India to pick up candidates who have exceptional skills in communication and has a good knowledge of Economics, Political Science and Mathematics. The following requirements make an ideal candidate for IBPS PO Exam 2016:

  • A Graduation Certificate/ Degree in any field, but the same has to come from a University or Institute which has been recognized by the Government of India.

At the time of registering for the exam, a candidate need to be handy with the mark sheets which includes score card/ report card/ mark sheet of Standard XII as well as graduation.



Age Limit and Relaxation for IBPS PO Exam 2016

It is obvious that every competitive exam has a certain age limit. The IBPS PO exam has set its age limit from 20 years to 30 years. Any candidate whose age falls under this bracket can apply for the IBPS PO Exam 2016. However, there are certain relaxation for the following people:

People who were affected by riots in 1984 5 years
People who have faced ordinary domicile in Kashmir in between 1980 to 1989. 5 years
People who have been a part of military programs for a minimum of 5 years and have been released after completion of their job. (Does not include people who were terminated due to poor conduct.) 5 years
Disabled people 5 years
SC / ST 5 years
OBC (belonging to non-creamy layer) 5 years
